Don has been on their roster of recommended
Artists in Education since 1977, doing numerous residencies bringing the fundamentals of
songwriting and performance
to thousands of students in
Texas and Arkansas elementary and middle schools.
Since 1990, Don has served as a teaching artist for the Texas Instutute for Arts in Education. In 1995, the TIAE named Don "Teaching Artist of the Year".
